Spring of 2024 will be exclusively dedicated to imparting instructions on theories and praxis of Palestinian liberation struggle. The urgency has come about due to massive disinformation campaigns launched by western corporate media whose top-down positioning in the vertical information flow has disrupted fields of critical inquiry. Our goal is to dispel enduring myths, help our participants unlearn years, if not decades, of propaganda. Earnings from this course will be donated to causes in benefit of Palestinian struggle.
Numerous journalistic and academic publications will be studied and deconstructed, with the help of many seminal texts including, but not limited to the following -
Cook, William A. (ed.) - The Plight of the Palestinians: A Long History of Destruction (2010)
Dor, Daniel - Intifada Hits the Headlines: How the Israeli Press Misreported the Outbreak of the Second Palestinian Uprising (2004)
Pappé, Ilan - A History of Modern Palestine: One Land, Two Peoples (2006)
Shapira, Anita, and Derek J. Penslar (eds.) - Israeli Historical Revisionism: From Left To Right (2002)
Yakira, Elhanan - Post-Zionism, Post-Holocaust: Three Essays on Denial, Forgetting, and the Delegitimation of Israel (2009)
